Abstract
Thesis: Geometry, the science of space and its relations which exist between its various elements, linear, superficial and solid, develops and helps society.
I. Geometry, as is the case with most sciences, has its origin in the needs of the human beings at some particular time.
A. Herodotus (II, 109) indicated that Sesostris (C. 1400 B.C.) divided the land of Egypt for the purpose of more convenient taxation.
B. Ahmes gave a few problems concerning the calculations of barns.
C. Democritus (C. 460-370 B.C) gave another glimpse of geometry; he gave the construction of plane figure.
